People have spoken and despite limited participation (5 people), the 2 winning proposals are technical aspects of o&g and different subareas of the sector. I already have some ideas for both themes.
This week I am already preparing a write-up about a Canadian small cap that primarily produces oil in Oklahoma (US), high netback, very low debt and a plan to progressively increase production.
In technical aspects of o&g I have some ideas to discuss, but I cannot go in extreme detail, as I’m not a petroleum engineer or haven’t worked at a rig. But I don't believe such a high level of detail is necessary from an investor's perspective. I think understanding the technical jargon used in the updates and why some techniques are applied instead of others are more relevant. I will write about this in the article of next week.
As for complementary services, drillers are very hot right now, with companies owning or operating ultra-deep, deep and harsh environment drillers being more preferred. I believe you have read a lot about them on Twitter and Substack, and I may go for services that are for o&g but also offshore wind. There is nano-cap with a very promising drilling technology aimed at enhancing directional fracking for +2-mile laterals, but it is extremely iliquid. I might compile a list of idea that are relatively unknown and I think could be interesting to look at.
Thanks for the support! This substack is steadily growing, with over 30 subscribers. I’m very glad with the trend as we could be more than 50 by the end of Summer, and then 100 by the end of the year, maybe!
I’m a curious person that likes researching on a wide range of topics and sharing my ideas about them, and seeing that what I write is interesting to other people is rewarding to me. Feel free to contact me: anotheroilgastourist@gmail.com
